I was just trying things out, I though changing the number would make sense so I did and it worked :)

If change the STATNUM of a sprite to 10 (except those that have 10) it will disappear 8P

Decoration, SP and BB start, links, spawn, quake and buttons = 0

Axis marker, On and Off marker = 10

Path marker = 16

Weapons, Ammo and Items = 3

Enemies = 6

Types from 400 to 427 = 4

Types from 450 to 459 = 11

Types from 700 = 0

Weapons and items that are not used by the game (obsolete) have STATNUM of 0;

Voodoo doll (TYPE 44), Spray Can (TYPE 48) or Dynamite (TYPE 49) but also Raven Flight, Gasmask and Featherfall etc. have STATNUM 0.

I tried to put a TNT barrel (STATNUM 4) on top of a decoration (STATNUM 7) and it worked but once the barrel is moved away it will show up behind/under the floor sprite again.

So let's say you are standing in the south looking at the floor sprite and the barrel is moved to the north a bit it will occur.

So I guess it works best for immovable object like weapons, ammo and items.

About the sprite priority again; I think the problem can never be solved since the build engine renders sprites different from sectors.
